Recently renovated and cosy Welsh miner’s terraced cottage in the peaceful and picturesque ex-colliery village of Six Bells in Abertillery, South Wales. This dog friendly cottage is available for up to 5 guests. The village is surrounded by mountains, woodland and is overlooked by the famous Guardian monument. The cottage is directly opposite Six Bells Park with a playground, basketball/football and tennis courts. A basketball, football and tennis rackets/balls are available at the cottage. This dog, walker, tennis and cyclist-friendly property retains some of its original character and is perfect for families or friends looking to explore local and surrounding areas. It's less than 20 minutes from the edge of the Brecon Beacons. If planning on going to Cardiff for shopping or an event e.g. sport or concert, then it's less than 45 minutes from the Motorpoint Arena and Principality/Millennium Stadium. Full and thorough details are provided on booking and I'm always happy to answer any questions you may have.
Hi there and thanks for checking out our Renovated Welsh Miner's Cottage. Jason and I live in another cottage, in a small village not far from Highgrove, the private residence of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall. We are just over an hour from our Welsh cottage. I am Welsh and my family lives throughout Wales. Jason and I both work and in our spare time I play netball and we both love to walk and travel away with our three dogs. Jason and I will be contactable throughout your stay, but if there is an emergency at the cottage we have a lovely neighbour called John and local housekeeper Pippa available to support you too.
Peaceful and picturesque ex-colliery village near Abertillery in Blaenau Gwent. The village is overlooked by ‘Guardian’, an impressive 20 metre high memorial sculpture - Wales answer to the Angel of the North. The memorial was built onto the site of the old colliery, 50 years after the Six Bells Colliery disaster. Six Bells is perfect if you are keen to explore the local and surrounding areas, are a keen walker, mountain biker or cyclist. The cottage is less than 20 minutes from the edge of the Brecon Beacons. There are also two tennis courts and a basketball/football court opposite the cottage which you can use - tennis courts are now bookable with a small fee. If planning on going to Cardiff for some shopping or an event e.g. sport or concert - the cottage is less than 45 from the Motorpoint Arena and Principality Millennium Stadium.
