The Methodist chapel serves the local community and is used regularly.
Sunday Worship at 10:30am.
There is also a Communion Service at 10:00 each Thursday.
Coffee mornings are held each Thursday (following the communion service) from 10:30-12 noon.
All are welcome to join in any of these.

In 1936 when the Methodist congregation moved from the old Chapel on Chapel Street in the lower part of the village, they converted a manor house into their place of worship. This left much of the building empty and in 1987 some of this space was used to convert the upper rooms into holiday Apartments. These days they provide 4 comfortable Apartments with modern kitchens and bathrooms, TV, Wi-Fi and free on-site parking.
A 'Z' bed is available for each apartment for a modest cost. These are folding beds and not suitable for young children or adults.
These flats are available all year round. We understand people have different needs and we aim to provide both a place for quiet contemplation as well as a base for exploring the beautiful area around us, be it seas or moors.

Surrounded by moorland and fields on three sides and the sea on the other. Over the centuries ‘Bay’ has seen many a shipwreck in the wild seas and smugglers hurrying between houses at the dead of night. It is probably not surprising then that John Wesley felt the need to visit and preach here no less than 11 times.
There are many walks and outstanding views to enjoy, and with much of the coastline now managed and owned by the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, it is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of England.
‘Bay’ as it is known locally, is just 5 miles from Whitby and 16 miles from Scarborough, and so there is always something to do in the area, whether visiting the annual ‘Folk’ and ‘Victorian’ weekends in Bay or the many regular weekends specialising in ‘Gospel Music’, ‘Goth’, ‘Regatta’, ’60s’, ‘Wartime’, Sci-fi’, and many others in Whitby throughout the year. Or maybe you will reach Bay and dip your feet in the sea having bravely trodden the 190 mile ‘Wainwrights’ coast to coast walk from st. Bees.
