Ross Mill is a modern, spacious and elegant apartment. Situated close enough to the city centre to walk yet far enough to have a peaceful city experience. The complex is a refurbished Mill, very common in this area of Belfast and still retains the Mill chimney which can be admired from the property. A generous terrace with the property offers privacy, an enclosed area safe for children to explore or to enjoy food/drinks on hot balmy days. Smoking is permitted on the terrace. The apartment has been tastefully decorated with guests in mind. Tea and coffee is provided. Toiletries can be found in the shower and bathroom cupboard. A shop is located on the premises or there are larger convenience store nearby (Spar - Twin Spires & Spar - Springfield Garage) both within walking distance. Recommendations to eat are ‘Bobby’s’ on the Springfield Rd for a post party traditional Ulster fry and The Little Mill Bistro situated in Conway Mill towards the city.
I enjoy hosting as I live locally and am immensely proud of West Belfast, it’s rich political history and friendly residents. I am within a few minutes if guests should require anything specific and am always on hand to answer any questions about the property or Belfast in general. The area and complex is safe and provides 24 hour CCTV at each entrance, within the communal areas of each apartment block and of the secure parking facility. A haven for families visiting the city & elderly people delighted with the ground floor easy access. Parking for guests is plentiful and free of charge and public transport is frequent and easy. The Royal Victoria Hospital is located nearby and you may notice a lot of residents are employees of the hospital. Please respect the fact that there may be shift workers from the NHS within The Duffy Building.
The apartment borders the famous Clonard Monastery which plays host to the 9 x day Novena at the end of June every year when flocks of people, of every denomination, descend upon the area to pray and submit petitions for their loved ones. Recently refurbished it is well worth a visit anytime of year. As you turn on to the street from the Falls Rd you will notice the most photographed mural in the world, the Bobby Sands Mural. Everyday Black Taxi’s stop here during the Political tours of the city. The Political walking tours pass by the flat several times per day also. One of the hop-on, hop-off stops of the open top Tour Bus is also available on the Falls Rd. Dunville Public Park is a wonderful space for children, outdoor exercise or to grab a few minutes peace and tranquillity from the bustling city. The International Peace wall is a short walk and takes you into town so you have the option to walk or take public transport. The Glider is a fabulous new service which will take you everywhere you need to go during your stay. The stop is just at the end of the street (Falls Rd) past the library and there is a pay station at every stop which is simple to use. You are only 2 x stops from city centre or hop from G1 to G2 and go straight to the Titanic museum. Saves all the hassle of driving and parking in in unfamiliar city. Further up into West Belfast the is the James Connelly museum and a newly opened Belfast City Cemetery Visitors centre which offers tours and information on Belfast’s oldest graves. St. Peter’s Cathedral is situated in the Divis St area of the Falls Rd and has been beautifully restored since it’s construction in the 1860s. I highly recommend a visit to hear the choirboys at 11am Mass every Sunday (term-time only). My 2 x young boys are members so I may be biased!! Finally, there are 2 x Better Public Leisure Centres nearby. The Falls LC is a short walk from the flat and has a swimming pool and gym equipment.
