Sandpipers is the perfect choice for a relaxing family escape within the glorious Devon countryside and close to the breath-taking North Cornwall coast. Sandpipers is a pretty, upside-down holiday cottage adjoining the owner’s farmhouse. The cottage has two cosy bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs and a light and modern open plan kitchen/living space upstairs. With its own private garden and deck, you can enjoy a lazy breakfast while making plans for the day ahead. Guests have access to Little Derril's 10 acres of land for games, picnics and exercising pets.

We (Francoise and John) moved to Little Derril in 2021 and live in the main farmhouse, the central part of which dates back to the 17th Century. We are passionate about creating a peaceful atmosphere to allow guests to relax and unwind. We like to think we are always friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. Francoise is also a qualified Reflexology practitioner and can offer Reflexology and Indian Head Massage treatments on site.

Derril is a quiet, rural Devon hamlet and the perfect, peaceful base for your holiday. Holsworthy is just a 5 minute drive away and has two supermarkets, a post office, local shops and pubs. Derril sites right on the National Cycle Route 3 and is just a mile from a section of the new Tamara Coast to Coast Way for walkers. Just over the border in Cornwall, Bude is just a 20 minute drive. Bude boasts several lovely Blue Flag surfing beaches and a popular sea pool. The bustling (but never over-crowded) seaside town has numerous restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops, most of which are dog friendly. Further down the coast are the picturesque towns of Tintagel, Boscastle and Padstow. To the North on the Devon coast is the stunning Clovelly. Just 40 minutes in the other direction is the stunning Dartmoor National Park. Whether you are looking for beaches, coast paths, moors and tors, picturesque villages or just to relax and unwind in the peaceful countryside, Sandpipers is the perfect base for your holiday.
