Scale Hill Hotel has been providing accommodation for almost 400 years, starting as a Coaching Inn. Currently we have six self catered cottages and bedrooms in the Main House where you can stay on a B&B rate. Scale Hill Hotel provides peaceful, comfortable accommodation in the Lake District National Park at the head of Crummock Water. Ideal for couples and guests seeking a quiet base for walking, exploring and relaxing. Each cottage is self-contained and well equipped for short-breaks and longer self-catering stays, with a well-appointed kitchen, comfortable living area and private bathroom. The cottages are designed for ease and comfort, offering a warm, practical place to return to after a day enjoying the fells, lakes and countryside. The cottages are set within the grounds of our small Lake District hotel, but remain completely independent, offering privacy and space. Guests appreciate the balance of self-catering freedom with the reassurance of attentive hosts nearby if needed.

This is a quiet Lake District location, making the area particularly well suited to couples, repeat visitors to Cumbria, walkers and guests looking for calm surroundings. Our self-catering cottages are particularly popular for midweek breaks, winter stays, and off season Lake District holidays, when the area is at its most tranquil and under crowded.
