We are situated on the south of the village of hawkshead.The Cottage dates back to 1585 and is Tudor set in approx. half an acre of well mnicured garden. We have built a summerhouse for our guest to use during their stay, which we serve complimentary Tea & Cake on arrival. The summer house has been named 'The Pavllion' for private parties which book for Afternoon Tea. This is also available to guests should they wish to book for afternoon Tea during their stay with us. The garen is an ideal bolt hole should guests just want to escape the hussle and bussle of everyday city life, with its tranquil setting and quite location situated on the outskirts of Hawkshead village. All our rooms have ensuite showers/Hotel quality linen and towels/Wifi/T.V./hair dryer/Tea,coffee making facilities and complimentry toiletries.

We pride ourselves on 100% customer hospitality and always going that extra mile beyoned the call of service for our guests. From the minute you walk through the door with a warm & friendly smile/greet( along with he 3 resident Cats Marmaduke,Fifi and Mr Darcy.) to when you leave. We will make you feel like one of the family /relaxed after an excellent stay and wanting to return. There is always something exciting cooking up in the kitchen, so please dont be afraid to ask eiher of us what's on the evening dinner menu so to avoid disappointment for those of you who have any dietry requirements e.g. Vegetarians/vegan etc.

Hawkshead Museum is 200 yds along the driveway from the cottage. This is where you can find out about the history of the Grammar school Wordsworth was educated at. The School House Cottage would have been where the headmaster lived during the time he was educating the boys around 1585. Beautrix Potter's Husband Mr Heelis office is also situated in the Village and run by the National Trust. This is where some of her early illustrations of Peter Rabbit and friends are on show to see. 4 miles out of the Village in Near Sawrey is 'Hill Top' where beautrix Potter's publishing home where she had all her meeting with her publishers, a must to see for any child/adult who love's her books. Dont forget to pay a visit to our local church and it's lovely grounds. We always have a feww Weddings taking place during the summer season and worth a peek if you are passing through.
