Downderry is a quiet village with a pub, restaurant and beach, which can be accessed directly from the property.
Whitsand Bay is just a few miles along the coast from Downderry. It is a great place to take a picnic and spend the day. Access is via a fairly long and steep path, but it is well worth the effort. The beach is massive and doesn't get too crowded. enjoy the fine sandy beach which slopes gently into the sea, and take a surf or bodyboard if the surf is up. Parking is available on the side of the road near the gated entrance (make sure you park completely on the verge) or in the car park at the top of the road.
Adrenalin Quarry
This a great place to go to for a fun day out. You can do go-karting, water activities, and the legendary zip wire and swing, well worth a visit, and it's only a 10 to 15-minute drive away, which isn't bad for Cornwall!
Looe
This fishing town has a harbor, and is a nice place to visit, having pubs, shops and a sandy beach. You can book various types of sea fishing trips from the quay side.
Further afield, discover adventure at the Eden Project (27 miles), explore National Trust properties, enjoy a visit to Wild Futures Monkey Sanctuary (3 miles). With an array of activities at your fingertips, this coastal haven promises an unforgettable escape for the whole family.
