5 miles from Brighton and 7 miles from the historic town of Lewes, Sunrise is
located on the hillside above the West Quay of the Newhaven's Harbour and
close to the centre of Newhaven. It is built on the site In the midst of the convent
garden of the village of Meeching, Newhaven’s ancient name. The are views
over the top of Newhaven to the South Downs, Tidemills bay and the white cliffs
of Seaford Head.
There is free of-road parking for Sunrise’s guests. Five minutes walk up the hill
brigs you to Meeching Down ecological reserve and cliff top walks toward
Brighton. Newhaven’s own centre is ten minutes walk away. The journey to the
East Quay of the Harbour, where the railway station and passenger/car Ferry to
France are located, takes 5 minutes by car or 15 minutes on foot. Newhaven’s
town beaches are less than one mile away and the ruined village of Tide Mills
and its unspoiled beach lies two miles away, at the Eastern tip of the South
Downs National Park.
Sunrise’s bedrooms feature en-suite bathrooms with bespoke toiletries, a
