The surrounding gardens were beautiful and the room is laid out in such a way you can really enjoy it. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding. We wish we could have stayed longer.

I had to leave very early so forewent breakfast. Host provided an excellent packed lunch. Host was friendly and thoughtful Room was perfect for my needs Bed was comfy, shower was very good, gardens and surrounds were lovely, peaceful too.

Modern accommodation in a countryside setting between Letcombe Bassett and Letcombe Regis. Comfortable and spacious with French doors looking out over the Letcombe Brook and surrounded by an extensive garden and woodland within 5 peaceful acres. Numerous walks on the property and surrounding areas. Many private spaces to relax under trees, by the stream or on one of the sun-decks.
Astrid is passionate about gardening, the outdoors, hiking and running, while Tony takes care of practical matters around the property, loves photography, yachting and the outdoors. Astrid is German, Tony is South African and they have lived in England for over 20 years.
Thatchcombe is on the outskirts of Letcombe Bassett - a small quiet village, surrounded by trees and fields. The Greyhound pub & restaurant in Letcombe Regis is an easy 20 minutes walk either by footpath or road. The market town of Wantage is an 8 minute drive and has all main amenties. Nearby villages of Childrey, Sparsholt, Denchworth, Kingston Lisle and others are all worth exploring, each having a fine restaurant and pub. Nestled below the Ridgeway, there is no end of walks and hikes to suit all levels of fitness.
