The Annex at Middle Filham is a beautifully presented one bedroom self contained accommodation with a private entrance but no kitchen. Just outside Ivybridge on the edge of Dartmoor it provides a very comfortable base in the heart of the South Hams. The main bedroom has a king size bed and a door opening out onto your own private outdoor space with a patio and seating and separately a large undercover dining area. Downstairs there is a TV lounge with a small knee height table. The private bathroom has a walk in shower and there is undercover parking next to The Annex. Although there are no kitchen facilities a continental breakfast is provided and facilities downstairs include a microwave, kettle, fridge and toaster as well as complimentary tea and coffee. There is modern heating throughout and a 46" flat screen TV in the private sitting room. Cutlery and crockery are provided and replaced daily if used. One large or two small / medium dogs are welcome and we have a private field where you can exercise your dog, there are also dog day care facilities available. Please let us know in advance if you are bringing pets with you.

You will be personally greeted on check in and your hosts will be generally available to provide local knowledge and assistance when required. The layout of the property does however provide you with plenty of privacy. There are many facilities nearby including South Devon Indoor Tennis Centre in Ivybridge, Electric Bike hire from Puffin Billy Cycles in Wrangaton (5 minute drive), numerous local riding stables, Ivybridge Leisure Centre and swimming pool, Discovery Surf School at Bigbury on Sea and Filham Fishing Lake. Due to the age of the property there are a number of low doorways - please remember to "mind your head", there is also quite a steep set of stairs up to the bedrooms, please contact us in advance for further information if this may be an issue for you.

On the edge of Dartmoor The Annex at Middle Filham is an ideal base for anybody wishing to explore this amazing national park however being just 20 minutes drive to the nearest sandy beach on the quiet South Coast makes this a very special location. Both Plymouth and Exeter are accessible by car or public transport and the picturesque towns of Salcombe, Dartmouth, Totnes are all within a 40 minute scenic drive. The town of Ivybridge is a short walk away with a number of pubs, restaurants and take aways. 15 minutes walk to Ivybridge Train Station and 10 minutes to the nearest bus stop makes public transport readily available. The Annex at Middle Filham is set right in the heart of the South Hams and if fancy a walk you can step from the driveway right into the Devon lanes. You will need your own transport to access the various beaches nearby. The Annex is ideal for access to Dartmoor and sits below Western Beacon and the start of the Puffing Billy Track. It is a 1/2 hour uphill walk onto Dartmoor but your host will normally be available to drop you to the Moor gate just a few minutes away in the car.
