This pretty village can be found resting on the edge of Teesdale, in County Durham. Within the small village you will be delighted to find a couple of shops, a pub and a selection of takeaways. Within close reach to the village is the spectacular Raby Castle, where you can explore its treasures and tapestries, as well as the scenic deer park. Also close by is the market town of Barnard Castle, where you will find further amenities and attractions including Bowes Museum, Egglestone Abbey and the ruins of the medieval castle. A short drive will bring you to the town of Bishop Auckland and slightly further afield is the superb city of Durham, where you can spend time discovering its Romanesque Durham Cathedral and Norman Durham Castle. For those feeling active, North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a few miles away and offering miles of walking routes amid breath-taking scenery.
