The Bridge Street Historic Guest House is largely 14th Century building with the oldest part dating back over 1000 years to Saxon times. It is situated next to a brook and was a former mill house alongside an old water mill.
Terry and Lynette run The Bridge Street Historic Guest House. We decided to turn our property into a Guest House back in 2014, after retiring. Lynette was a cook within the caring and hospitality sector whilst Terry was a packaging printer cardboard designer and founding director of Greenfield Creations. Besides running the Guest House Lynette makes her own jams, pickles and treats, whilst Terry creates his own homemade wines & decorative wooden items. Guests are always welcome to try these tasty creations when they visit The Bridge Street Historic Guest House.
South Suffolk is a beautiful, scenic place and we want people to have a great time when they visit. Our guest house is close to the market towns of Sudbury, Gainsborough's home town, and the lovely Bury St. Edmunds. It is also very close to several attractive and historic villages, such as Long Melford and Lavenham, which has been described as one of Britain's most picturesque and best preserved medieval villages. (It was used as 'Godric's Hollow' in the Harry Potter films.) There are a number of excellent restaurants, spas and local shops which are well worth a visit.
