The Malt House forms one wing of Portree former grain mill. Over 200 years old it is now a grade 2 listed upside down house full of charm and character. The house is an easy 5 minute walk from the centre of Portree with all its restaurants and facilities, yet is situated in a leafy tucked away location. The upstairs living area is light, bright and open plan. The sea is a 2 minute stroll from the house. Portree is the capital of Skye and a great base for exploring all that Skye has to offer.

We fell in love with Skye after visiting our mum who moved here for a quiet life. So we fully understand why you are considering a stay on the Isle Skye, it's the perfect place to explore and relax. We wanted to create a home away from home for you to either hide away from the rain or collapse into after a long day of exploring.
Portree is known as the capital of Skye. It has an array of pubs, restaurants and gift shops. It has a pretty harbour area where you can book wildlife boat trips and tours to more remote islands. Its central location on the island makes it an ideal base from which to explore Skye.
