Company information

The pub owners are also homegrown, coming from the nearby town of Manningtree. They have a passion for the industry as well as the area and providing good home-cooked food, a great pint with a friendly service is what they value most. The manager of The Marlborough is fun and energetic, ensuring that no task is too much to ensure our guests have a great stay. All the staff are a great team and enjoy the environment they work in which is proven in the service they provide. You can be certain of a warm welcome when visiting!

Property information

Aside from the great food and wide variety of drinks, our welcoming staff will always make you feel at home and we pride ourselves in offering exceptional customer service. The food we produce is often locally sourced and suited to seasonal vegetables and dishes that you will always enjoy! The building itself is from the 14th century which can be seen in the many features: from exposed wooden beams and large open fires to slightly uneven staircases! The pub was first licensed in 1704 and we aim to continue providing a great local pub experience for visitors, whether local or from afar. Dogs are welcome but this must be arranged prior to your stay. Any extra cleaning required will incur charges. Please bring their own bedding.

Neighbourhood information

Set in the heart of Dedham Vale AONB stretching from Dedham High Street down Mill Lane towards the river. Based in beautiful Constable countryside there are plenty of walks in every direction from a quick stroll to hours of hiking! There is rowing boat hire a short walk away and plenty of quaint and quirky shops along our historic high street. If you're wanting to travel further afield, the towns of Harwich, Colchester and the waterfront town of Ipswich are only a short drive.
