Short Let Space is a vacation rental company managing over 120 cottages, apartments and holiday homes in the Oxford and Cotswolds. We have a great team of holiday cottage professionals who have lived in the area for a combined number of 60 years and are more than happy to share their knowledge and advice on where to explore, whether you are here for a holiday, working, or studying.
We are here to look after you before, during and after your stay. We operate to high standards of property care. We require full electrical, gas and other safety certificates to be updated annually by the owners.
Our friendly bookings and client support team are on hand to help you before and during your stay and our platoon of housekeepers and handymen and women who keep our holiday cottages in tip top condition. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful cottages and apartments.

With excellent bus links, local shops, and scenic walking routes at your doorstep, this is a perfect base for relaxing after a day exploring Oxford or venturing out to the Cotswolds, Bicester Village, or even London.
The neighbourhood is walkable and filled with Victorian architecture, tree-lined streets, and the gentle buzz of university life. Just a short stroll takes you to Jericho – one of Oxford’s trendiest districts – where you’ll find independent cafés, boutique shops, and a great mix of international restaurants. Walk in the other direction and you’ll reach the University’s iconic colleges, libraries, and museums, including the Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers.

Walking Guide from The Old Dean's House
University Parks
A beautiful and expansive green space perfect for a morning jog, picnic, or riverside stroll. Landscaped paths, sports fields, and rare trees make this a peaceful retreat just steps from your door — beloved by locals, students, and visitors alike.
Walking time: ~3 minutes
Directions: Turn left out of Wycliffe Hall and walk down Norham Gardens. The park entrance is at the end of the street. Perfect for morning walks or picnics.
Pitt Rivers & Natural History Museum
Two fascinating (and free) museums side by side. The Natural History Museum features dinosaurs and rare specimens, while Pitt Rivers is packed with cultural artifacts from around the world. A must-see for families, history buffs, and anyone who loves the unusual.
Walking time: ~6 minutes
Directions: Walk through University Parks to the south exit, turn right onto Parks Road. Museums are across the street. Free entry, great for families.
Jericho District
One of Oxford’s trendiest neighbourhoods. Jericho offers independent cafés, boutique shops, great pubs, and Phoenix Picture house — a charming independent cinema. A lively yet relaxed place to spend an afternoon or evening, especially popular with locals and students.
