Property information

The property used to be the Lock Keepers Cottage and is situated right next to Newark Town Lock. Please note that all bookings are room only as we have no facilities to provide breakfast but we have plenty of great options nearby, please ask us for details! Please note that this is a Grade 2 listed cottage of an advanced age, rooms 1 & 2 our Riverview rooms have 2 steps from the bedroom down into the bathrooms and include a shower over the bath and so may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues but our Garden view twin (room 3) and our Waterfront Suite (room 4 which is also on the ground floor) feature walk in showers and may be more suitable.

Neighbourhood information

Situated next to the River Trent and within sight of Newark Castle and walking distance into Newark On Trent home to the National Civil War Centre. We are lucky to be surrounded by many great places to eat and drink most of which are independently owned, so whether you like real ales, pub food, Nepalese, Thai, Tandoori, Mexican, Cantonese, Vietnamese or fine dining there is something to suit you in Newark! If shopping is your thing you can explore many independent and national retailers and we are a great base for travelling to Nottingham, Lincoln or Leicester or if you prefer the countryside we are close to the Vale of Belvoir , boasting the impressive Belvoir (pronounced beaver) Castle, second only i would say to the amazing Lincoln Castle which stands opposite the magnificent Lincoln Cathedral. So whether Newark is your base or your destination we welcome you and hope you enjoy your stay.
