The Sandy Duck is not just a hotel, but a beautiful historic building with a fascinating past. Originally built in 1899 by The Revenue as a boarding house for officers working out of The Port of Falmouth, the house has undergone several transformations over the years. It was later converted into a small hotel before being turned into a nursery school, and finally back into a Bed & Breakfast in the 1960s. In October 2016, the current owners took over the property, which was looking tired and in need of some love and attention. Their vision was to give the house a new beginning while preserving its beautiful Victorian history. Careful attention was paid to every detail to ensure that the house was restored to its former glory, and every effort was made to breathe new life into it without removing any of its original character. Today, The Sandy Duck stands proud as an elegant and impeccably presented townhouse, offering guests a unique and luxurious experience. The house is located in a prominent position on one of the roads connecting Falmouth town to its beaches, with magnificent far-reaching views over Falmouth Bay towards Pendennis Castle and St Anthony’s lighthouse. Each room has been individually designed, each with its own unique character and charm. With comfortable Hypnos beds, luxurious en-suite bathrooms with monsoon showers and some with freestanding baths, you'll feel right at home.
