We love to welcome guests to enjoy the amazing scenery of the Welsh Borders. We live on site and are happy to be on hand if you need us, otherwise we will leave you to enjoy your stay in peace. We have a black and white cat called Puss that you may see wandering around, as well as plenty of chickens, sheep, cattle and sometimes some horses. If you visit in the spring you may even be lucky enough to see some lambs being born!

Charming one bedroom newly renovated guest house with kitchenette set on one level in traditional stone barn. The Stables is one of four units available at Pentregaer Ucha, alongside The Granary, The Nook and The Barn. All guest suites offer everything you need for the perfect rural retreat and are decorated and maintained to the highest standards. Come and enjoy complete peace and quiet set in 50 acres of rolling countryside with fantastic views of the Welsh Borders. Take idyllic walks along the many adjoining footpaths including the Offas Dyke Trail, picnic beside our beautiful hilltop lake or enjoy a game of tennis on our court. Please note for safety reasons the lake is not suitable for swimming, sailing or paddle boarding. We also do not allow fishing. We accommodate one well behaved small/medium sized dog per booking in The Stables but kindly ask that they are kept off the furniture and due to the large number of sheep they must be kept on a lead outside. Due to the traditional architecture of The Stables if you are particularly tall you may prefer the ceiling height in one of our holiday lets; The Nook, The Barn or The Granary. Please be aware that although we offer wifi we are very rural and speeds are slow. wifi for checking emails, zoom and social media is adequate but streaming films on tv is hit and miss!

Situated only 4 miles from the historic market town of Oswestry centre with restaurants, and 3 miles from the village of Trefonen with local shop and pub. A Perfect location for walkers and those wishing to explore the beautiful Welsh Borders. Within easy reach of numerous attractions including Chirk Castle, Erddig Hall, Powis Castle, Old Oswestry Hill Fort, and the stunning Lake Vyrnwy and Llanrhaeadr waterfall. Although very rural we are only a 5 minute drive to the town of Oswestry. A car is definitely recommended if staying with us as there is no local public transport, although taxis can be booked. Take away delivery is not normally possible due to the rural location.
