Staff were charming, as was the whole place. I found the stairs a bit difficult due to my ill health, but that would not stop me from staying again

The White House is situated in the historic market town of Ross-on-Wye and less than 100 yards from the River Wye. We warmly welcome guests old and new to our recently renovated guest house. We are within 2 minutes’ walk of Ross town centre giving easy access to shops, restaurants and bars. There is easy access for Horse Racing, Walking, Cycling, Fishing plus many other outdoor activities to be discovered in and around The Wye Valley and Forest of Dean . With the charming towns of Hereford, Ledbury and Monmouth within half an hours drive away, Ross-On-Wye also has great road links to the M50 / M5 / M4 with Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham each about 1 hours drive away and Heathrow Airport approx 2 hours drive away. Cheltenham and Gloucester are both about 35mins drive away.
Ross-on-Wye is known as "the birthplace of British tourism", and for very good reason. The Wye Valley's river scenery, its picturesque landscapes, and its castles and historic buildings are truly something to behold. Whilst you are a guest at The White House there is plenty outdoor adventures for you to participate in, whether it's canoeing on the River, enjoying a great days fishing (The White House is 100 yards from the River Wye) or a beautiful walk, either into the local town which is 5 minutes away, or round the local parks. Alternatively, a leisurely walk around the town may be more to your taste, where you'll find many local independent shops, coffee houses, restaurants and pubs for you to visit, relax and unwind in.
