We loved the garden, it was secluded and safe. The house is spacious, plenty of room for a large family. It was all set up, beds made, towels in the airing cupboard. Our host was really helpful.

Location is very good for stay. Fuel station and morrison in 2 min walk. Near by town center. Other destinations are within 30-40 min drive. Very convenient location wise. Facilities are comfortable good for big groups.

Waterloo House dates back to 1820 and has a rich history, to include once being the home of the Ackland family, and formerly a boys school. This townhouse is sizable with 13 rooms and laid out over 3 floors, retaining many original features. We have owned the house over 15 years, letting it out for holiday rentals. Over the past three years, the house has undergone restoration and redecoration to include new carpets through out. On the ground floor there is an impressive entrance with original tiled floor, ground floor cloakroom and w.c, games room with table tennis, and a ground floor double bedroom. The back door leads out to a large walled garden, secluded patio and archway leading to a grassy area and original summer house. The first floor has three reception rooms, kitchen and bathroom and rising to the top floor, there are 5 further bedrooms, some with vanity sinks, all spacious, light and airy. The house offers spacious accommodation for groups up to 12 with lovely views over the towns bowling green and is situated in the heart of Bideford, close to the shops, bars, cafes, restaurants, river, park, and local busses.
We have been running Waterloo House as a holiday home for many years now and are pleased to offer the house newly renovated. This is our first time on this booking site, having let the house through other rental sites. We usually meet guests on arrival to explain parking, and answer any questions. We are always contactable during the guests rental.
Waterloo House is situated in a cul de sac, opposite the bowling green and adjacent to the local football ground, where car parking spaces are available. The road is relatively quiet, and parking is available outside the house in unrestricted hours. Within 5 minutes walk, there is a Morrisons supermarket, local shops, bars, cafes, the river Torridge, Victoria park and access to local busses. Driving just 5 minutes takes you to the A39, the Atlantic Highway with easy access to North Cornwall and towards Barnstaple and Ilfracoombe. Local beaches are at Westward Ho!, and Instow, with the beautiful Appledore, just a short drive away.
