Wingate Farm is a traditional farmhouse with 3 bedrooms, sleeping up to 8 guests. It's located in a secluded and beautiful area of Exmoor between Lynmouth in Devon, and Porlock in Somerset; it is a working farm of 100 acres. The South West Coast Path and the Coleridge Way both pass very nearby; it's well suited for family holidays and for exploring! You can walk to the local pub (The Blue Ball Inn) which is 4 miles along the 'Jagged Path', or onto Lynmouth and Lynton which is another mile further on. Lynmouth has a beautiful harbour and amazing fish and chips. Lynton is the nearest town (10 minute drive West) and Porlock and Minehead (10 and 20 minutes respectively, to the East) both have plenty of shops, restaurants, pubs, cafes and other amenities. The farm next door has it's own Roman archaeology, the "Old Burrow" c 50 AD was built in the reign of Claudius. The earth works of an army encampment are clearly visible and is walking distance from the cottage, just up across a couple of fields. The South West Coast Path is easily accessed via a short walk over a couple of the fields belonging to the farm. There nearest sandy beach is at Lee Abbey, a 15 drive minute drive away, and is lovely. The big surfing beaches at Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe are about 45-60 minutes away. There are a number of National Trust properties close by. There are many walking routes on the farm and close by.
