A traditional East Sussex inn in the South Downs, Ye Olde Smugglers Inne dates back to the 14th century and retains plenty of its original character. A cosy fireside bar and restaurant complement the bespoke rooms, which all benefit from free Wi-Fi. Each room has ensuite facilities and has a radio, alarm clock and wardrobe. A self-service continental style breakfast consisting of toast and cereals, pastries, yogurt and fruit, tea and coffee is available each morning from 07:30 – 09:00. The pretty village of Alfriston lies around 17 miles east of the coastal city of Brighton, with the vibrant centre just over 30 minutes’ drive away. Around 9 miles from both Eastbourne and Lewes, this inn is just 3 minutes’ drive from Drusilla’s Wildlife Park, and 30 minutes from Bexhill’s De La Warr Pavilion theatre and arts centre.
