Hotel "Old village" is located about one kilometer from Vardzia, from where there are beautiful views. A fruit garden and a vegetable garden are planted around the hotel. We will entertain our guests with fruits and vegetables grown here. The historic rock-cut temple and Tmogvi Castle can be seen from the hotel. You will find a very cozy environment, fresh air and delicious mountain water. From Vardzia to the hotel is possible only by jeep. If necessary, you can leave your car at the secured parking lot in Vardzia, and the host will transport you to the hotel. This service is included in the room fee. Food by arrangement. If you wish, the host can provide you with transportation to visit various places of interest, as well as to bring you to the destination, for a reasonable fee.

I am Darejan, the owner of the hotel, I am a historian by profession, I have a doctorate in social sciences, the functioning of this hotel is important to me, because it gives me the opportunity to introduce the guests to the history and traditions of Georgia, Georgian hospitality, and talk about the historical relations between their country and Georgia. I have the ability to prepare Georgian cuisine dishes myself and serve them to guests, with natural, garden-grown produce, fruits and vegetables. Next to our hotel is the Vardzia monastery complex, dating back to the 12th century; the historical village of Chachkari, where the hotel is located, is the oldest 12th century village and authenticity is preserved here. The village supplied Vardzia with food and wine, especially wine in large quantities. On the site of Chachkari, you will see a wine press where grapes were pressed and supplied Vardzia with special pipes. Here you will also see a 300-year-old vine, which confirms the historical reality! St. George's Church adorns Chachkari, near our hotel, mines where people took refuge during the war. So we are waiting for you in the 12th century village♥️In our region, Samtskhe-Javakheti, there are many historical monuments to see, first of all Vardzia, then Khertvisi, Tmogvi Fortress, Vani Boilers, all of these are near our hotel.
