Our story begins in 2018 along the cobblestone streets of Kerameikos. Our team constantly strives for perfection and takes pride in its work. Providing hospitality is our passion – the hotel business is our profession. When we first created Ceramian here at UrbanLife IKE we didn't want to make just another hotel. We wanted to make a statement. Don’t think of it as a hotel, think of it more as your new found home in Athens. Stay at Ceramian and feel the difference on your own.

Overlooking a quiet pedestrian street, the Ceramian provides a visiting experience of seclusion and tranquility, while boasting a central location in Athens historical center, with most important landmarks within walking distance. Filled with natural sunlight, its 11 apartments & suites offer unobstructed Acropolis views. Each accommodation is designed in the Ceramian signature style, made with natural materials in an earthy palette. High-end design furniture are matched with handmade objects, ceramic art creations, books and smells that infuse Greece.

Neighbourhood information

The Ceramian is located in the heart of Kerameikos, an area overflowing with history. Kerameikos took its name from the word kéramos (“pottery clay”, from which the English word “ceramic” is derived), because of the many ceramists who lived and worked there in ancient times. The “Inner Kerameikos” was the former “ceramists’ quarter” within the city and “Outer Kerameikos” includes the cemetery and also the Dēmósion Sēma (δημόσιον σήμα, public graveyard) just outside the city walls. Ruins of the Dēmósion Sēma, where Pericles delivered his funeral oration in 431 BC, were found and now exhibited, literally, next door from the Ceramian. But Kerameikos of nowadays has much more to offer. Some of Athens most exquisite restaurants are located steps away. Bars, caffes, museums, art galleries, local markets set the scene of a vibrant, lively, edgy and interesting place to live. Combining the allure of an unspoiled, old-fashioned, original neighborhood with its central location, the Ceramian makes the perfect starting point to discover and experience Athens.
