Villa Jamyti is located in Plakias, which has a magical frontal sea view of the Libyan Sea. Plakias town has become a renowned tourist resort, providing all the facilities that a visitor could wish for, including several supermarkets, a bakery, and a butcher shop that offer a very wide range of products, including local and traditional goods. Additionally, there are a variety of tavernas, cafes, and bars in Plakias. Around the area of Plakias, there are other smaller mountain villages such as Sellia and Mirthios, with traditional restaurants and spectacular sea views that guests can visit. The closest beaches are Small Fotinari and Big Fotinari, which are unorganized sea coves. The nearest organized beach is Souda Beach. Furthermore, Jamyti Villa is the ideal base to explore the natural south coast of Crete as it is near numerous other spectacular clear-water beaches such as Ammoudi, Damnoni, Schinaria, and the famous palm beach of Preveli. Finally, the city of Rethymno is about a 45-minute drive where you can visit the magnificent old town, the Venetian harbor, the museum, the Venetian castle “Fortezza” which is the trademark of the city, and take a walk along the boardwalk of Rethymno Beach.
