Kythira Island Retreat is a recently-built detached house in traditional style, located in the village of Goudianika in the south of Kythira. Completed 23 years ago and set in its own large, private, walled grounds with gates, it has stunning views to the sea, the surrounding fields and neighbouring villages. The house is on split levels with the large, open-plan sitting/dining/kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor, and 8 steps going up to the bedroom. Relax in comfort in the sitting room to enjoy the large flat-screen smart TV or with a book. There's also a smart TV in the bedroom. It's just a short drive to Komponada beach, and the popular towns of Livadi, Karvounades and Chora, beaches of Chalkos, Firi Amos, and Kapsali with its superb night life. Potamos, Melidoni, Avlemonas, Paleopoli, Myrtidia Monastery and the water falls at Milopotamos are all within easy reach. It's a great place to be if you enjoy outdoor activities. The split-level garden offers a variety of seating areas and several trees. Here you can find shade, and gaze over the fields to the sun or moonlight glistening on the sea in the distance. Sitting outside under the jasmine covered pergola is the perfect place to see a night sky full of stars! The distance to neighbouring houses ensures your peace, quiet and privacy. The house has double-glazed windows and a glass balcony door. Every window has a fly screen, and there are fly screen doors at 2 of the exterior doors. New air-conditioning units have been installed downstairs and upstairs in the bedroom. There's also a floor-standing fan. Unfortunately from time to time the WiFi, mobile phone and electricity supply on our island can be affected by factors outside our control. For guests staying over 7 days, linen and towels will be changed every 5th day. The house will be lightly dusted and cleaned. Additional linen and/or cleaning will be paid for by the guest. Maximum 1 pet allowed per booking, by prior arrangement only.

I've known and loved Kythira since 1987, a beautiful, unique and authentic island. Even though we are new to hosting, judging by our excellent ratings and feedback it's very encouraging!! The house is located within a short drive of Komponada beach in the small village of Goudianika. There is a small church in the village, no shops. Shops are nearby in Karvounades, Kondolianika and Livadi - just a few minutes drive. It's a great place to walk/hike, with views as far as the eye can see and only an occasional vehicle passing by. The main village of Chora is 10 minutes away by car, and it is around 15 minutes to the main beach of Kapsali with its plethora of coffee shops and restaurants, entertainment and night life.
