Little Blue is located in the seaside village of Kato Zakros, on a hill right next to the renowned Minoan Palace overlooking the sea. The house is within walking distance from both the beach and the tavernas (500m) and the Minoan Palace (160m). It provides its guests privacy and a beautiful veranda to relax and enjoy the view. Little Blue can comfortably accommodate two guests, ideally a couple (1 double bed with a Sealy matress). During their stay, they will have the chance to experience the ultimate connection to the Cretan landscape and seascape. In the terrace, they can take great delight in gazing at the sunrise and the clear night sky, as well as bask in the unique sense of peace and quiet provided by the view to the bay and the proximity to the great Minoan civilization. Little Blue is a part of a 1940's originally built family house, used as a farmhouse. Grandparents used to stay here during the summer harvest time. At those times, bathrooms were placed outside of the main houses. After the great Minoan Palace was found and excavated, any expansions or reconstractions of buildings close to the palace were forbidden by law. Therefore, the bathroom is located outside the house (20m away, like the old times) though it is private and fully renovated.

Maria was born in Zakros, stays in Sitia, studied Social Sciences and works on the field. She has spent all summers as a child in Kato Zakros, loves the sea, the mountains, the night sky full of stars and the serenity of the land. Kato Zakros is part of the Sitia UNESCO Global Geopark, marking the eastern ending of the E4 European Walking Path, a 320-km-long path beginning at Kastelli-Kissamos in the west. Visitors make the most of their stay enjoying themselves on the beach, swimming, hiking, canyoning in the Gorge of the Dead, exploring caves, the ruins of the great Minoan Palace, savoring the exceptional Cretan cuisine, but most importantly relishing the peace and quiet and the energy of the land, avoiding busy and crowded places. Zakros, the village higher up on the hillside, is well worth a visit, and the 9 km drive to Kato Zakros down a winding road is spectacular. The small town of 800 people has mini markets, an ATM, a pharmacy, a gas station and several places of interest, such as the natural spring of water, the traditional watermills and the Museum of National History. The town of Sitia is 43 km away and is served by the Sitia Public Airport and the Port. Visitors can find various rental car services there. The palm beach of Vai, one of the largest attractions of Crete, is just 35 km away. It features the largest natural palm forest in Europe, made up of Cretan date palm. The golden beaches of Xerokampos are just 15 km away.
