Neighbourhood information

Barbat is the first to greet you after you disembark from the ferry to the island of Rab. This small place is recognizable for its beautiful pebble beaches and rich fishing tradition. Above Barbat is the hill of St. Damjan, where the ruins that have captured the imagination of curious explorers for centuries are still visible today. Today, it is known that these are the remains of early Byzantine fortifications from the 6th century. Don't worry, you won't be bored because in addition to activities related to the sea and beaches, you can also take a 6 km long promenade from Barbat to the town of Rab. The town of Banjol is adjacent to Barbat and there you can visit Padova beach, which is ideal for families with children due to its size.
