Povlja is a small charming tourist village placed in a deep bay on the north-east side of the island of Brac, one of the prettiest and the biggest Croatian Islands. It was for a century’s happy home for olive-groves, fishermen and stonecutters. The Bay of Povlja is not only a very long, but also treasures a variety of intact pebble beaches, among which Travna, Tićja Luka and Tatinja are the best known. Unique landscape, untouched nature and exceptionally clear sea water makes Povlja ideal place for family holiday. Besides swimming, hiking and long walks, you have a possibility of snorkeling, diving, canoeing, or renting a boat and discovering more hidden treasures of the island. If you are looking for a cultural heritage, you have to visit the oldest sacral building on the island, an early Christian Basilica dating back to 6th century AD. Once you are in Povlja, do not forget to visit desert Blaca , mountain Vidova Gora, Dol and finally Bol with a fabulous pebbled beaches among which the most famous is ZLATNI RAT.
