A recently built, two-storey house above Somlo Wine Shop's cellar. At a prime location on Somlo-hill itself, accessible by car, free parking, huge garden and fantastic panoramic views towards Lake Balaton. 2 restaurants and most major wineries are within 15 minute walking distance. Kathryn runs the wine shop below the guesthouse. She is looking forward to your visit, and is happy to help make your stay on Somló a memorable one.
Somlo is the smallest, and probably the most unique wine region in Hungary. Its wines are rated amongst the best in the world. Somlo hill itself is an extinct volcano, with several tourists attractions as well as open wine cellars. Yet, do not despair, if you still happen to find one closed: Somlo Wine Shop (in the cellar below the house) offers a unique opportunity to taste over 40 winemaker's produce in one sitting, we stock many of the wine producers on the hill!
