Nestled in the trees on the edge of the jungle lies Baturidi jungle homestay. This beautiful place has been hand-built by Romi, the owner, over the last 10 years. The place is still under some construction so it will appeal to people who love adventure and the simple life. There are currently two tents available for guests to stay in, and a shared bathroom. Guests can also make use of the kitchen. The property is located a 40 minute scooter ride away from the local village of Bukit Lawang. Romi will arrange with guests to meet them on their arrival to Bukit Lawang and drive them back to the house. Baturidi provides the perfect opportunity for people who want to stay off the beaten track, fully immersed in nature, falling asleep to the sound of the jungle and flowing river. It is important to us that the guests have a nice stay and everything is possible! All the vegetables we serve in the restaurant come from our own garden. Everything is possible on our one hectare property: - Swim in our own rivers and waterfall - Make a campfire on our camping site - Meet the locals who want to explain everything to you - Perfect base for the jungle trekking (we also offer these)

My name is Romi. I was born, and have grown up, in Bukit Lawang. I have lived at my property for over 10 years, hand-building my place from scratch with the help of my cousin. I am a local guide for jungle treks in Bukit Lawang jungle, where many guests come to see Orangutans and other animals. I really enjoy living a quiet life, spending time listening to the animals and being immersed in the nature around my property.
