Five Fern House is a purposely built cosy B&B. The 4 double rooms have been recently refurbished for a relaxing and comfortable experience. All have rooms ensuite power showers, hair dryers and free toiletries. The guests have full use of a separate living room with TV and there is free WIFI throughout the property. Breakfast is served daily in the Dining Room and consists of a Continental and/or Cooked Breakfast. Upon request other options include a Full Irish, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs, Homemade Porridge, all are made to order. We do cater for vegetarians, vegans and other special dietary requirements. Please advise upon booking. There are also ironing facilities available upon request. Guests may also make use of the free parking on the premises during their stay. This is a family run operation, so we need to be advised of the time you plan to check-in when you book.

Rachel and Julian are a couple from Malta. Rachel is a pastry chef by profession, however has worked for many years in catering and the hospitality industry. Julian is a fully qualified masseur and personal trainer, specialised in sports and leisure management. They have three children and have decided to pursue their dream of having a B&B in the West of Ireland to share its beauty with guests. Julian likes the outdoors, especially trekking, camping and fishing. Rachel loves to cook and entertain, so she loves to have a house full of people. To that end we now also organise tours of Mayo for groups which are run by Julian and include van transport and dedicated driver. Half board dinners during the tour can also be catered for upon request. A minimum number of persons is required and these tours are tailormade for individual groups. Ask us for more information.

Five Ferns House is conveniently situated in Knockranny Village which is just under 1km outside town. A 15 MINUTE WALK will take you right to the centre of town. Town is theming with quirky shops, Pubs and Restaurants. Westport House is also lovely to visit. Being just on the outskirts of town has the advantage of the peace and quiet of the countryside. One can relax once in the B&B. Knockranny House Hotel is behind the B&B just 2 minutes walk away, so guests can easily go to the Bar, Restaurant or SPA there.
