The Yellow House is family-friendly and an ideal base for touring Achill, Connemara, Galway and Mayo. The perfect setting for an evening Barbeque. There are lovely country walks nearby. The nearby Heritage town of Westport has lots of pubs and restaurants. Getting there The Yellow House is in Knockrooskey which is 3.75 miles from Westport on the Ballinrobe road (about 7 minutes). From Westport take the R330, you pass a school on the left, then a garage. Turn right opposite the garage, go 400 yards and the house is directly in front of you. I am originally from Westport and went to school in Knockroosky school which is very close to the Yellow House. I now live in Dublin with my wife Una. We have 3 grown-up children. We love Westport and try and visit as often as possible, my brothers and sisters live in the area. We like to holiday in Mayo and the West of Ireland,

The Yellow House is in a rural setting surrounded by green fields and quiet country roads. It has wonderful views of Croagh Patrick. The house is "Architecturally designed with large open plan areas. It has 5 Bedrooms and 3 Bathrooms, it can comfortably sleep 11. Patio areas front and back with garden furniture. Gas and Charcoal BBQ,s. It is just over 3.5 miles from the lovely and buzzing town of Westport. The fabulous Country Lodge Hotel is within walking distance. The house is about 2.5 miles from the Historic village of Aughagower where St. Patrick spent some time before going on to Croagh Patrick. Public Transport - Westport is served by both train and bus- Westport Railway station is (6km/3.75 miles away). Ireland West International Airport (Knock Airport) is approx 45 mins away. Bus Eireann operate regular buses to Dublin and Galway. A Review from satisfied visitors to the Yellow House. We had a lovely time at the yellow house celebrating a family birthday. Ample space for all of us. Great location in the countryside but only a few miles outside of the bustling tourist town of Westport. Also great location to climb Croagh Patrick Mountain. Everything there that we needed! Even got to meet our hosts Jimmy and Una as they were in the area for the weekend. A pleasure to meet and chat with them and they offered a lot of advise for the area. The support to ensure our Trip was as pleasurable as possible was outstanding.
