At the heart of Coffee Courtyard is Kishen Nanjappa, your warm and welcoming host.
A former employee of a leading multinational airline, Kishen spent years exploring the world and refining the art of hospitality. His travels strengthened his appreciation for genuine human connection- and eventually led him back to his roots in Coorg.
Today, Kishen is a passionate coffee planter who has beautifully transformed his dream into reality: opening the gates of his family property to like-minded travellers who value nature, quiet luxury, and authentic experiences.
His keen interest in birds and wildlife makes staying at Coffee Courtyard even more special. With an impressive depth of knowledge, Kishen helps guests spot rare species, understand local biodiversity, and appreciate the quiet magic of the Western Ghats. For nature lovers, it’s an experience that feels both enriching and intimate.
Located in the south of Coorg, this is one of the only areas in Coorg which have both Coffee and Tea plantations.
Coffee Courtyard is located just a short walk away from the Glenlorna Tea Estate, which provides some spectacular views.
Nagarahole and Tollpetty forests are located about 25kms away, for all the wildlife enthusiasts.
Irruppu falls located 15 kms away is also the starting point for a trek up the Brahmagiri range.
Coffee Courtyard is located on the Barapole river which has whitewater rafting during the monsoon season.
Mrityunjaya temple is located about 8 kms away for all the religious souls.
On the property, we have a viewing deck which works as a perfect place for Meditation, Yoga and also for bird watching.
Picnic lunches on the riverside is a must when you visit Coffee Courtyard.
Campfires and Barbeque nights during winters helps keep away the chill nights.
