Rumi Medhi Hazarika is the host of Rupali Tat Ghar and Homestay. She is a independent women of Majuli and the one who took first initiative to start Homestay in Majuli Island. She is a self dependent women. She carries such a great personality, character & behavior which attracts the people a lot. She spends most of her time in her kitchen and taking care of her guest.She also have a traditional dress shop with muga silk, nuni silk, missing sadar mekhla named with Rupali Tat Ghar adjacent to the Homestay.

A home away from home in a quite neighborhood that is far from the crowds. This is the best homestay in Majuli. We have been awarded by Tourism department of Assam for our services and encouraging people to tourism in the state. The homestay is a traditional assam type house which has 2 private bedrooms with attached washroom for guests. We have common hall for the guests as you can see in photos. Where guest can sit, chat and have great conversation. Also there is a balcony outside the hall, for the guest to sit, chat & relax. We provide freshly prepared homely food for all our guest as per guest requirements, which will be charged extra. The great deal is we provide free complimentary asian breakfast for all our guest. Besides this home we also have two other unit adjacent to the house. One unit is similar to the homestay which have 2 concrete rooms. One is the quadruple room and the other is the single room, For this two rooms we don't have attached washroom. However there is a shared washroom outside for this 2 rooms. The other unit adjacent to the house is newly built bamboo cottage after receiving lots of demand from my foreign guest, who would like to experienced their stay at unique traditional bamboo houses like the majuli tribal people. This unit have 2 bedrooms with attached washroom and a balcony as you can see in the photos. If you would like to experience your stay in unique traditional bamboo houses, better book this rooms.
