Registration HG-00021105. Our house is located in the centre, where the original settlement of Reykjavik started. Built in 1892 and completely renovated in 1986. The name of the original village of Reykjavik is Grjotathorp, which means 'houses built on rock'. Right outside our house there stands the famous elf-stone in a small playground, protecting our neighbourhood.
My wife Edda and I Sverrir, have worked in the world of arts from early childhood. We were born in Reykjavik and know the 'hidden treasures' of the capital city. We have travelled widely for our work and lived in London, Chiswick, for a few years. Since we live in the centre most attractions are in walking distance.
This is a quiet neighbourhood with the centre just around the corner. Nice tea/coffee place on the corner, interesting restaurants, grocery shop, the high street, galleries and museums. The important Tourist Information Centre is 1min away, where you can book the fly bus and all your tours. The pick-up is on the corner from our house, at Hotel Reykjavik Centrum.
