I am a new owner at Grettir (2017). I am very excited to make Grettir at better, cleaner and more of a homelike place to stay at. I am a former jewelry smith with 3 boys. I like cats, good food and good company. This little house is in the best place ever here in Reykjavík downtown, everything is close by but still we have a privacy because how the house is located (back from the main street Laugavegur). Small, old and charming place with soul between all the new and luxoriuos.

Old and charming little self-service guesthouse. Simple and non complex features, feels like a home in center of Reykjavík. All shops and restaurants super close...just walk out the front door. Quiet place in the middle of downtown. Normal city center street parking.

We are located right in the city centre and as Grettisgata runs parallel to Reykjavík's most famous street - Laugavegur, you should not have any trouble finding your way back home should you get lost strolling around town. All the services and attractions that a traveller could need or want are located within walking distance. Reykjavik's famous nightlife is also centered on this area and all the best pubs, clubs, bars, theaters and restaurants are only a few steps away. Just walk out the front door. • The budget store Bónus can be found right on Laugavegur. Just turn right when you exit the gate and head up Laugavegur in the direction of the Hlemmur bus station. Bónus is on Laugavegur 59, just look for the pink pig which serves as it‘s token and the steady stream of people exiting with big bags of groceries. The opening hours vary but you are generally safe by heading there before 6 p.m.
