Neighbourhood information
The Flaminio district in which the house is located is among the first neighbourhoods to be created in 1911, officially established in 1921. Over the years, the prestige of this district has grown, and it has become a sort of cultural container, thanks to the numerous museums, theatres and multifunctional centres
The district stretches from Ponte Milvio on the banks of the Tiber river, on the slopes of the Parioli hill to Piazzale Flaminio and the gateway to Piazza del Popolo
With the National Exhibition of 1911, the area defines its prevailing character, still today, as a cultural and entertainment centre.
This is where the various exhibition venues of Valle Giulia are located, with the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia, the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art and the foreign pavilions, and the more recent Maxxi Museum dedicated to 21st century art and the striking Bridge of Music .
But the majestic Auditorium Parco della Musica by Renzo Piano with its numerous events is also here.
The origin projected towards culture and art also emerges from the choice of the names of the streets and squares: Piazza Belle Arti, from which our house takes its name, Via del Ghirlandaio, our address, dedicated to Domenico Ghirlandaio, a 15th-century painter, Viale Tiziano, Via Cimabue, Via Guido Reni and many others are the names of the streets in this district dedicated to the painters of the same name.
Crossing Ponte Milvio on the other side of the Tiber you will find the Foro Italico, a large complex dedicated to the athletics or go to the Olympic Stadium to watch a match or concert, or to the Tennis Stadium .
Walking up Via Flaminia, which crosses it and from which it takes its name, you will reach Piazzale Flaminio and Piazza del Popolo, strolling among ancient buildings, some of them of rare beauty. Here is one of the most beautiful entrances to Villa Borghese
