Welcome to Casa Giulia, a fully renovated 50 sqm apartment nestled in a historic courtyard just 1 minute’s walk from Piazza Vittoria, the vibrant heart of Gorizia. Here, history and modern style blend to create a warm, functional, and inviting atmosphere.
A Step Back in Time
Casa Giulia is housed in a historic building with documented origins dating back to 1770, when Gorizia was under the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In 1889, the property was owned by Antonio (Anton) Battig (1832–1896), a civil engineer who worked in Vienna and presented an innovative iron structure model at the 1876 Philadelphia World Fair.
Even today, the internal balconies still bear the initials B.A. wrought into the ironwork, a tangible sign of his legacy.
Just a few steps from the entrance, you’ll find Palazzo Cobenzl (1587), now the Archbishop’s residence, and a commemorative plaque dedicated to Carolina Luzzatto, a prominent figure in the movement for Gorizia’s Italian identity. 📍 Perfect Location
