Jeroen the Owner was raised in a South African-Italian family; Food, wine, laughter and family has formed the cornerstone of my life. Spent most of my time in the kitchen, putting together tradidional and local South African ideas to eventually developing what I refer to as a "Salt and Pepper Kitchen" No frills, just wholesome quality family food. Casa Dreosti Guesthouse was the next-step to making people feel at home. Join me in the kitchen while I am cooking, share a bottle of wine and you will soon find yourself joining me for dinner. Casa Dreosti offers 4 guest rooms. Each room has an easygoing, elegant touch aimed at guest comfort. I take my dogs for a walk through the village or gardens every day, Come along for a mini tour of the town, a stop-off for coffee and home made ice cream on the sunny days. I visited Cortona years ago, and vowed to come back and live here one day. Here I am now, in the Pearl of Tuscany. The house had to be gutted completely. New electricals, plumbing, kitchen, air-cons and heating has all replaced with modern appliances. I have made sure that I have made sure that guest comfort is a priority. First things first, for all international travellers, we I recommend that you download and register with WHATSAPP to facilitate communication. Directions to the house, parking location, a list of restaurants and taxies that operate in Cortona. The Property is an old building that once belonged to the Nobles of Cortona. It was built Pre-1600, but to date, no real evidence about the exact construction period. We are situated on Via Nazionale, in the center of town. 1 minute from the tourist information center and most of the charming little restaurants and bars; all of which have very traditional Cortonese food. In most cases, the Family owns the restaurant, with "Mamma" in the kitchen and strict quality control too. The house has three levels, each room has its own on-suit Modern bathroom with large shower. Should you need any additional amenities for little children, let us know beforehand so we can see how we can accommodate your request. Our resident dogs, Judy and Lucy are always ready with a welcoming tail-wag to lead you to your room. They love a little snacks and attention, and do very well with kids too.
