Ponti sul Mincio is the smallest center of the morainic hills, but its geographical location makes it one of the most interesting places in the whole area from a naturalistic point of view. It is, in fact, the town in the Mantua area closest to Lake Garda, from which it is only 4 km away, and a large part of its municipal territory is included in the Mincio Park, which begins right from the municipality of Ponti. The medieval origin of the village is testified by the remains of the ancient castle, built in the 12th century by the Scaligeri, which dominates the upper area of ​​the city. The oldest part of the town sees the most valuable work in the Renaissance Parish Church from the 16th century. Inside it houses a precious eighteenth-century Madonna and Child and traces of a fresco from the 15th century.
