We offer a comfortable accommodation in one of the oldest buildings of Civita. The apartment is on the ground floor of Palazzo Contino. It has a terraced garden with a stunning view on the Calanchi valley, in between a new Wisteria and a fig tree but also many more plants and fruits. The apartment is entirely independent with its own access to the terraced garden. It consists of 3 bedrooms (1 double room and 2 twin rooms), 2 bathrooms (1 with a big shower), a dining room with open kitchen and fireplace, a big living room and a terraced garden. The apartment has a stone fireplace (wood on request) where it is possible to cook meat and vegetables but also the typical bruschetta (roasted bread with garlic, olive oil and tomato). The apartment is ideal for a couple or for a family or a group of friends up to 6 people. Breakfast and meals with local and seasonal products or just the products, are on request, and, according to the season, they can be eaten in the garden.

My name is Ilaria, I am an architect and landscape architect, I have lived in Rome all of my life, recently I have decided to live more in Civita then in Rome with my husband Marco. We run together our b&B and love to spend time in Civita, working in the garden and to the house or exploring the surrounding area, the lake, the small historic centers, the natural landscape or the Etruscan sites.

Civita is a unique place, a small historic centre connected to the real world only through a pedestrian bridge, a very special experience. The surrounding landscape is a mixture of rural and natural with strong geological signs, as the Calanchi formations, sort of bad lands. Civita has a long history connected to the geological events (earthquakes, land slides and erosion), it is still very fragile. The Geological Museum in Civita is unmissable. Also unmissable is the view on the Calanchi Valley with its ever changing light through the day and through the seasons. When there are clouds and mist Civita looks as suspended on a foamy sea. Every day the view and the experience are a surprise. Civita di Bagnoregio is the perfect spot to start nice excursions and to visit the natural and the artistic beauty of the region. Bolsena lake, Orvieto, Alviano Lake, Viterbo, Bagnaia, Ferento, Bomarzo... are nearby, not more far then 30km. Rome and Florence are reachable in about 1 our by train from Orvieto station.
