Palazzo de' Vecchi is an old wonderfully well-preserved historical residence, still present in all its beauty on the elegant Pantaneto street, in the heart of Siena city centre, along the Via Francigena. Its foundations date back to the fifteenth century; in the following centuries it has taken on its present prestigious and refined appearance typical of an aristocratic architecture that took inspiration from the European taste of the eighteenth century. The Noble floor was designed to organize the most gorgeous parties and to host famous people who, passed to see the city's beauties during their grand tours or the international huntings, very much loved events at the time of Violante of Baviera, when she became Governor of Siena. The main hall, called Ballroom, hosted the orchestra in its gallery; important guests were accommodated in the other prestigious adjacent halls. The stuccoes that decorate the rooms are typical of the Austrian and French inspiration of the style of that time.
