Welcome to Podere Sant'Angelo and the Maremma! Podere Sant'Angelo is located in the wilder, more remote southern part of Tuscany. Podere Sant'Angelo's peaceful location and lovely garden filled with aromatic mediterranean plants is an ideal place to relax and get in touch with nature. Podere Sant'Angelo offers three independent self-catering apartments. Zolferate and Capitorio apartments are located in a 300 year old stone barn twenty metres from the main farmhouse. Inside, both have high ceilings, honey-coloured chestnut beams and cool terracotta floors. A high point is a traditional 'cucina in muratura' with a stone sink and everything you need to prepare delicious local specialities. Outside, both apartments have access to a terrace for outside dining and a private garden for sunbathing. On the ground floor of the main farmhouse the independent Albegna apartment combines the modern with the charm of the old. It too has a traditional 'cucina in muratura' with a stone sink. It has large windows throughout and when you step outside the glazed double doors onto the covered 20m2 terrace you really do feel that you're on holiday. You can have your meals here, take an afternoon nap or enjoy the amazing summer sunsets and then count the shooting stars.

I grew up in the northwest of England. After my studies in Scotland I left the UK to live and work in many different countries. After spending a lot of time in the world's most beautiful metropolises, I now value living in close contact with nature all the more. For more than fifteen years I have been enjoying life here at Podere Sant'Angelo. It gives me great joy to share my experiences here in the Maremma with my guests. I am happy to tell you which places you should visit and where you can eat well. The unique view from Podere Sant'Angelo makes this a really special place. The view wanders down to the sea as far as Porto Santo Stefano. On the other side there's Monte Labbro. Directly in front of the door of your holiday home wonderful sunsets wait for you, until the the Milky Way appears in the black night sky.

Podere Sant'Angelo is situated in the Maremma, the wilder, more remote part of southern part of Tuscany about six kilometres from the picturesque village of Roccalbegna. The Maremma runs south from Siena to the border with Lazio. This region brings together all the clichés: historical villages and churches with Renaissance frescoes, ancient Etruscan towns and traditional ceramics handicrafts alternate with fantastic wines and traditional food. Unspoilt trails wind through unique nature reserves, there are deserted beaches with crystal clear waters, as well as cultural treasures and artfully designed gardens. In Roccalbegna you will find all the amenities for your holiday. The 9th-century village has two grocery stores, a trattoria and a butcher, as well as a pharmacy and a bank. The famous sulphur springs of Saturnia are a 25-minute drive away. Deserted beaches? You can find these here too! In less than an hour by car you can reach the natural beach in the Parco Naturale di Maremma, where you can relax on the 8 km golden sandy beach. On the coast of southern Tuscany there are also quiet bathing resorts such as Castiglione della Pescaia (90 mins). We are situated 3km along a well kept unmade road.
