The Residenza al Fillungo (Residence at Via Fillungo, the 'long wire' high street) is an elegant self-catering studio-apartment recently restored in an ancient palace in the heart of Lucca. This exclusive residence consists of only one apartment, next to the owner's flat. It is about 60 square meters wide and has its own separate entrance. It has been restored using only valuable traditional materials, fully respecting the original structure. It includes a sleeping alcove with a romantic wrought iron double-bed, a living area with sofas and tv set, a fully-equipped kitchen with an antique table and built-in cabinetry in wood and marble. It features original furniture and provides private bathroom and cloakroom, and a balcony-window on the city roof-tops with their red terracotta tiles. Your host is an Art Historian, author of many books and essays about Tuscan art and architecture. He lives next door, in his family palace main apartment, and he's the right person to ask to get tips and suggestions about what to see and to do in Lucca and in its region.
