If you’re looking for a safe, authentic and private Jamaican experience this is it! This is a natural and rustic cabin. If you’re looking for a hotel this is not it, but if you want the real country Jamaican experience then this is your place. A short (10-15 minutes) walk through the rainforest to the famous Winifred beach where your only company along the way will be the local birds. You will have exclusive use of the space including kitchen, two bedrooms, front and back verandahs.

I am a Proud Portlander and Jamaican! Love to meet people from other countries and travel with my English wife. I am a farmer and tour guide and can show you around our beautiful country. We are not on the property but very near by (5 mins) and available for advice, orientation, (we’ll walk to the beach with you on the first day). We can take you to town and on trips for a fee. Show you where to shop and take you there if you wish. Arrange grocery delivery and give advice on practically anything such as the local beaches, nightlife and places to eat. We can also provide you with cookery demos and a welcome Jerk Chicken BBQ -where we can more fully introduce you to Portland Jamaica! The biggest bonus of this place is you don’t have to interact with anyone if you don’t want to and you can walk to the beach without the hassle of arranging a taxi.

The cabin is located in its own grounds on the Winifred Estate. Its possible to walk throughnthe woodland to Winifred beach in about 10-15 minutes. The other residents are freindly and we all keep an eye out for each other. Its a community and everyone knows everyone else, but it is not upmarket. This is genuine local; country Jamaica. There are several bars close by, two directly over the road. Rockys serves food until late. Just dowhn the road is Boston where there are several Jerk Chicken jpints and the fabulous Great Huts which is a resort with a difference. There is yoga and spa treatments available there plus musica and cultural events.
