Company information
Takuma Boutique Hotel opened its doors to the public in February 2019. The hotel is family-owned and offers guests a unique experience they won’t ever get at other big-box hotels that isolate quests from authentic local living. Guests who stay at Takuma Boutique Hotel get to experience community-based tourism as they have the opportunity to get acquainted with locals and experience firsthand how residents go about their daily lives.Guests get the unique opportunity to experience the wonderful sounds of nature: the chirping of crickets at nightfall, the rustling of the wind through the fruit trees and the crowing of roosters at daybreak, signaling the beginning a new day. The hotel also prides itself on offering guests authentic, mouth-watering local cuisine prepared by the resident chef who interacts one-on-one with guests and educates them about the meals. Some of the food is grown on the property and guests get a close-up view of how they look and feel before they’re transformed into sumptuous dishes.
Property information
Dubbed a hidden gem, Takuma Boutique Hotel, and Villa Suites is a family-owned hideaway, nestled in the quiet, cool hills of holy Mt Zion, a close-knit community in Montego Bay that has a rich history rooted in Jamaica’s colonial past. The hotel is minutes away from The Rosehall Great House, Rosehall Convention Center, Cinnamon Hill Golf Course and is adjacent to the historic Mount Zion Presbyterian Church that was built in 1838 by Delroy's great great grandfather and other slaves.
Guests who opt to stay at his hotel will enjoy a panoramic view of the lush mountainside, the famous Rosehall Golf Course and a breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea. They'll also learn about the rich history of the Mt Zion community where Delroy Allen's ancestors grew up.
Takuma Boutique Hotel is not your typical big-box, all inclusive hotel. It is rooted in the dynamic culture of the people of Mt Zion and offers guests firsthand experience of local living. At Takuma Boutique Hotel, you get to pick your own fresh fruits & vegetables, when they're in season and give to our first-rate local chef who'll create authentic, mouth-watering Jamaican dishes prepared the traditional way.
Neighbourhood information
The community of Mt Zion has a rich history that is rooted in Jamaica's colonial past. It is approximately 6 minutes away from the Rosehall Great House (former home of the infamous White Witch of Rosehall, Annie Palmer), and adjacent to the Mount Zion Church built in 1838 by slaves. At first glance, Mt. Zion appears unassuming: overgrown trees and wild flowers line the road and byways while a few humble dwellings fan out over the hillside. However, the residents are friendly and welcoming to visitors. Guests can visit the local school, church and farms and chat with the residents who are genuinely happy to share their culture. After only a few minutes in in this tranquil, quiet community amongst the fascinating residents, visitors immediate feel at home.
