The accommodation is located along the historic Nakasendo Trail, the centuries-old route that once connected Kyoto and Tokyo during the Edo period. Just a 15-minute walk from Nagiso Station, the house sits peacefully within a residential neighborhood where locals still live today. Here, guests can hear the gentle sound of mountain water flowing nearby and enjoy the quiet, rural charm of the Kiso Valley. One of the area’s highlights, Tsumago-juku, is a beautifully preserved post town on the Nakasendo Trail, known for its traditional wooden buildings and prohibition of cars during the day to maintain the town's historical atmosphere. Many travelers walk the scenic trail between Tsumago and Magome, experiencing what travel in old Japan felt like. There are two local restaurants near Nagiso Station, a supermarket about 15 minutes away on foot, and a convenience store around 20 minutes away. Whether you're exploring Japan's Edo-period heritage or simply looking to relax in nature, this area offers a unique and enriching experience.
