It took many years to get used to English (it is not easy to use practical English for grown-ups in Japan), but we learned in a private English school, so there is no language barrier between hosts and guests. A local residential area in Kyoto. Not busy, very silent and calm. You can feel the real life of a Japanese person in Kyoto here. This area is famous for Sake manufacturing because the groundwater is very pure. Public baths (Onsens near the house) use the same underground water. The water is soft and perfect for the skin. A tattoo is no problem at all to enjoy the Onsens around here. Please don't be afraid of using the public baths near our house. Also, you can find many sake companies' headquarters, and we highly recommend visiting the Sake museum by bicycle to buy local sake made by them at their stores. The house is only 2 2-minute walk away from a bus stop connecting to Kyoto station. Some buses directly go to Fushimi Inari Shrine, which is the most popular spot in Japan, according to TripAdvisor. There are train stations around the house, too. By train, it takes 10 minutes to Gion, the largest downtown area in Kyoto. It has easy access to main tourist spots, such as Kiyomizu-dera temple, Sanjusangendo temple, and Fushimi Inari Shrine. It is accessible to Osaka and Nara as well. You don't have to change trains via a big train station, Kyoto Station, and you can go directly to Osaka and Nara from the house. Useful for a day trip. By car, please use the parking lot beside the house. It is very economical.
