I was born in Saitama and Osaka. During junior high and high school, I lived in Thailand and Singapore due to my father’s work. After graduating from university, I joined a Japanese motorcycle manufacturer with the goal of working overseas, and spent five and a half years there. While I was assigned to domestic sales, I once went on a business trip to Matsumoto in Nagano. I stayed at a guesthouse there, and was deeply inspired by the city’s atmosphere and the international guests I met. That experience made me dream of someday running a guesthouse in Matsumoto. From March to November, I run my guesthouse, and from December to February I usually travel somewhere (last year I was in New Zealand, and this year I spent time in Hakuba). Running the guesthouse is always fun because people from all over the world come to stay and share their stories. I’d love for you to come and visit too!

AZUMAYA is a small guesthouse based on the concept of "Stay in Matsumoto like a local" Opened in 2014 after renovating an old private house. It retains the warmth of your grandmother's home, and it's a space where you can feel at ease even when you're on a trip. We aim to be a place where you can enjoy living in Matsumoto.
